Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs)

Our therapists are insured and licensed in the state where they are practicing and have received extensive Massage Therapy Ethics and Technique training along with Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology training.  Therapists are accountable, punctual and professional, and hygiene is of  the highest importance on the Oasis Team. Therapists are also certified in First Aid and CPR.  We hope you enjoy our variety of therapists and their extensive education and specialities.

 

 

Daniel

Daniel has been with A Massage Oasis since 2009, and is our lead therapist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from Eastwind School of Holistic Healing and has an AA and BA in Art. He is very familiar with working in a hospital setting because he was a Technician for many years and has over ten years experience in Massage Therapy. Daniel specializes in Shiatsu and Trigger Point Therapy. He uses these skills to help control and eliminate headaches. Daniel teaches Shiatsu Chair Massage and Trigger Point Therapy at the college level. He enjoys painting, drawing, playing the piano, and spending time with his family.

Karen

Karen has worked in the healthcare field for over 25 years and feels that massage therapy is a great form of preventive healthcare. She studied massage therapy at Eastwind School of Holistic Healing and has been a Massage Therapist for over 7 years. Karen specializes in Shiatsu Massage, Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, and light stretching. She also enjoys incorporating Reiki, Chakra, and aromatherapy techniques into her table massage services. Karen enjoys hiking, swimming, gardening, traveling, cooking, yoga, spending time with her family, and her dogs.  She has been with A Massage Oasis since 2011 and is our part-time evening therapist at the University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center in Iowa City, Iowa.

Kim

Kim is a graduate of East-West School of Integrative Healing Arts. She was inspired to become a LMT while working with special needs children, witnessing the profound, calming effect of massage on a student with cerebral palsy. Kim specializes in Sports Massage, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Reiki Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, and enjoys learning new massage techniques. She has additional training in Hot Stone Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Aromatherapy.  Kim says, “This is the best job I have ever had!  I love it!”  She has been with A Massage Oasis since 2010, and is our full time daytime therapist at the University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center in Iowa City, Iowa.

Kay

Kay is a graduate of Capri Massage Therapy College.  She specializes in chair massage and has been involved in the healthcare industry for several decades. She is available at the UIHC most Wednesdays and also available at the UIHC Pomerantz location when her schedule allows.  She also helps with the Children’s Hospital Massage Program.
